Appearing at Festiwool

Paper Stories

Hand dyed yarns and special gifts from Paula.

Paper stories bloomed back in 2002, when Paula created birth announcement cards for a friend who had just given birth to her first child. Paula can custom make any of her designs, particularly her yarn dyes

Native Yarns

It’s important to us to support British suppliers, as we believe the quality of the fibre they produce is wonderful and should be more widely used. We’re proud to say that we’re committed to using British wool and alpaca wherever possible.

Plant-dyed yarns produce a wider range of colours than purely pastel. We revel in the rich and the vibrant as well as the delicate and subtle. The colour palette from natural dyes is one that glows with a life of its own and offers the most wonderful possibilities when working in multi-colour as they harmonise beautifully. Britain has a great heritage in wool production as well as in the crafts that celebrate this wonderful natural material. I hope, through producing plant dyed yarns, to help keep this ancient craft alive and encourage more people to value this unique world of colour in wool and alpaca.

Mint Bee

I am an independent hand-dyer, offering luxurious yarns coloured in small batches at my home in Hertfordshire. MintBee is committed to using only the most gorgeous yarn to create beautiful things for you to work your own magic with, or just to add to your collection...

At any given time we aim to offer a selection of the following luxurious bases. Because wool is lovely, but things that smoosh and glimmer with cashmere, alpaca, camel or silk are lovelier.
